The prices of food increased by 4.9%, energy by 10.2%, and fuel by 33.9%. The experts believe that inflation will increase even more in the coming months.
High inflation in Poland may persist for up to 3-4 years before it is brought back to the central bank's official target of 2.5%, said the chief economist at the Finance Ministry.
According to the report by the audit firm Grant Thornton, 71% of medium-sized and large companies in Poland intend to increase the prices of their products over the coming 12 months with only 5% planning price-cuts.
